Welcome

We extend a warm welcome to everyone who attends SBBC. This is expressed in a personal greeting by the welcome team at the door as you arrive. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our service or the other ministries we offer.

Preparation

Please sit anywhere – there are no reserved seats – and we recommend that you take a moment or two before the service to ask God to meet with you during our time together. As the service begins, the leader reminds us why we have gathered and will open in prayer.

Music

Although Christians are to worship God in every area of their lives, singing praises to God is one of the ways we can thank Him for His grace and mercy, point one another to the abundant truths of the Bible and respond to the way these truths impact our lives.

Prayer

We place special emphasis on the importance of prayer in the life of the church. Prayer is the particular privilege given to Christians enabling them to respond to what God says in His Word and bringing all their concerns to Him, confident that He will grant everything that is for their highest good.

Sermons

We believe that God gathers and shapes His people through the preaching of His Word. Our sermons aim to teach the theme of a passage of Scripture and consider how it applies to our lives today. Usually we follow a section of one Bible book for several weeks in order to trace the development of a particular doctrine or theme.

Afterwards

After the sermon we will sing a closing hymn in response to God’s Word. There is then an chance to meet together over tea or coffee and get to know each other better. It is our prayer that godly relationships will develop in the church family so that we can encourage each other in our walk with Christ.
